밀레타 포스틱은 인물화를 기본으로 한 변주를 작품 안에서 시도해왔다. 그는 작업안의 인물들을 ‘강조와 왜곡’, 두 가지 이상의 ‘이미지 혼합’ 등을 통해 특징을 극대화시킨다. 또한 그는 이런 방법을 통해 극을 만들고 이미지를 통해 이야기를 관람객에게 전달한다. 하지만 그의 작업에는 하나의 주된 줄거리보다 여러 의미들이 혼성되어 있다. 

"사람들은 이야기를 좋아한다. 하지만 나는 내 작품을 보며 그들만의 이야기를 만들어 내는 사람들을 보는 것 또한 좋아한다."

그의 대부분의 작업에서 보이는 주된 관심사로는 ‘혼합’을 꼽을 수 있다. 우화처럼 동물의 머리를 사람의 몸에 접붙인 작업에서는 ‘인간과 동물의 혼합’을, 70년대 안과 의사인 아버지가 각막이식 수술을 진행 하고, 이 장면이 방송으로 나가게 되는 과정을 그린「My father」연작은 ’기억과 상상‘ 그리고 ’과거와 현재‘의 혼합을 시도한다. 

작가의 혼합에 대한 관심은 그가 작업 초기부터 관심을 가지고 있었던 인물화에서부터 찾아볼 수 있다. 초기 작업 속 인물화는 왜곡과 강조가 두드러질 뿐만 아니라 인물과 상관이 없을법한 또 다른 이미지들이 병치되어 있다. 이러한 혼합의 열망은 여러 문화의 아이콘들을 한 화면에 섞기도 하고 과거와 현재의 이미지를 섞기도 하며 ‘반인반수’로 확장 되어 왔다. 

허나 반인반수를 표현하는 다른 미술 작품들보다 그의 작업이 희화적-戱畵的 으로 보이는 이유는 그가 일반적인 반인반수-反人反獸, 인간의 얼굴과 동물의 몸-와는 다르게 머리 부분을 동물로 표현하기 때문이다. 전통적 반인반수의 모습은 인간의 머리-이성-를 육체적, 물리적 한계를 극복하기 위해 동물의 몸에 붙인 형태이다. 즉 초 인간적인 모습으로 반인반수를 그려왔다. 

하지만 밀레타 포스틱은 동물의 머리를 유약한 인간의 몸에 접붙이고, 한계 따위는 고려하지 않은 듯 연극을 하는 것처럼 인물들을 표현했다. 육감적, 감각적인 그리고 비 이성적으로 보이는 동물의 머리는 인간의 유약한 몸에 접붙여졌고 이 인물들은 화면 안에서 인간의 삶의 단편을 연기하듯 존재한다. 이는 마치 우화처럼 간접화법으로 표현되어 풍자적이기도 하며 매우 능청스럽기도 하다.

Mileta Postic has been playing variation that focused on portrait. He emphasized characters through 'emphasis and distortion' and mixing with 2 or more things in one canvas. Also he made stories and told the stories to audiences with images which were followed those steps. However, there were several meanings in his painting than a certain story.

"People like stories, but I also like people to make up their own stories when they look at the paintings. " _artist's note

His main interest seems to be 'mixing' in his almost works. There is mixing between 'human and animal' in works like fable. Also, there are 'past and present' and 'memories and imaginations' in works which were about the broadcast and operation of keratoplasty in 1970s in Serbia by his father who was an ophthalmologist. 

His interest about mixing is detected from his early works; portrait. In his early works, he painted character as distorted or emphasized a lot and also, he put some images that were not related each other, at the same time. So, his interest about mixing has been expanding to therianthropic-half man and half animal- through mixing different elements or parts. 

However, the reason that his work about therianthropic character looks caricatures than classical one is that he put animal's head on body of human unlike others. 

In past, people (artists) put human's head which means 'reason and intelligence' on body of animal to overcome the physical limit of human. In other words, they depicted human as a super character. 

Yet, Mileta Postic expressed therianthropic character that had animal's head with human's body as if he doesn't care about the limit of human at all. He grafted Animal's head which is like sensual and unreasonable difference from human being, onto human's body and these characters existed on his painting like playing a show about lives of human. 

It looked so sarcastic and hypocritical with indirect speech like fables.
